Restricted Items
At Affordable Fencing-Roll Off Dumpsters, we strive to make your waste removal as easy and efficient as possible. However, due to safety, environmental, and legal reasons, there are certain materials and items that we cannot accept in our dumpsters. It’s important to follow these guidelines to avoid additional fees and ensure a safe disposal process for all involved.
Here’s a list of restricted items that cannot be disposed of in our roll-off dumpsters
Hazardous Materials
Hazardous materials pose serious health and environmental risks and are strictly prohibited in our dumpsters. These materials require special handling and disposal methods. Examples include:
- Paint (wet or dried)
- Chemicals (including pesticides, herbicides, and solvents)
- Asbestos
- Motor oil and other petroleum products
- Batteries (car, household, and industrial)
- Propane tanks
- Cleaning agents (such as bleach, ammonia, and drain cleaners)
If you have hazardous waste to dispose of, please contact a local hazardous waste disposal facility to ensure safe handling and proper disposal.
Electronics (E-Waste)
Most electronics contain components that can be harmful to the environment if not disposed of properly. We do not accept the following:
- Computers, laptops, and tablets
- Televisions
- Phones and cell phones
- Printers and scanners
- Fax machines
- Audio and video equipment
Many electronics can be recycled, and local electronic recycling centers can help you dispose of these items responsibly.
Appliances Containing Freon
Certain appliances, particularly refrigerators, air conditioners, and freezers, contain Freon (a refrigerant) that can be harmful to the environment if released. These appliances must be properly disposed of by certified professionals. Appliances we cannot accept include:
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Air conditioners
- Dehumidifiers
- Water coolers
Check with local scrap yards or appliance recycling centers that are equipped to handle Freon safely.
Tires
Due to regulations and safety concerns, we do not accept tires in our dumpsters. Tires must be recycled through specialized tire disposal programs.
You can typically drop off tires at a local tire shop or recycling center.
Flammable Materials
For safety reasons, we cannot accept any flammable materials, such as:
- Gasoline
- Propane tanks (including those found in BBQ grills)
- Fireworks
- Paint thinners
- Aerosol cans
- Kerosene
If you have any of these items, please seek out a certified facility for proper disposal.
Medical Waste
Medical waste requires special handling to prevent contamination and spread of disease. For this reason, we do not accept:
- Needles, syringes, or other sharps
- Medications (prescription or over-the-counter)
- Medical equipment (e.g., oxygen tanks, thermometers)
Local medical facilities or pharmacies may have safe disposal programs for unwanted medications and other medical waste.
Dirt, Concrete, and Asphalt
We have special dumpsters designed to handle construction debris such as dirt, concrete, or asphalt. These materials are extremely heavy and can cause damage our standard dumpster. If you need to dispose of these materials, please let us know upon your rental request so we can provide the appropriate dumpster.
What Happens If I Dispose of Restricted Items?
If you accidentally place a restricted item in the dumpster, additional fees may apply. Our team may need to remove the restricted material from the dumpster and dispose of it properly, which could incur extra costs. To avoid this, please review this list before placing items in the dumpster.
